1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [Legal entity name / your name, address] ("Purrnal", "we", "us") governing your use of the Purrnal mobile app and website at purrnal.app (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Purrnal, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Purrnal

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create a Purrnal account or subscribe to Premium. Purrnal is not directed at children and shouldn't be used by anyone under 13.

3. What the Service is — and isn't

Purrnal lets you log your pet's symptoms, vomiting, litter box use, food, water, medication, weight, and notes, view a weight trend chart, and generate a PDF summary to share with your vet.

• Purrnal is a record-keeping and organization tool only.
• Purrnal does not provide veterinary, medical, or diagnostic advice, and nothing in the app should be read as a recommendation about treatment, medication dosing, or whether a symptom is an emergency.
• The PDF report reflects only what you entered — it is not reviewed, verified, or generated by a veterinarian, and its accuracy depends entirely on the accuracy of your own logging.

4. Your account and data

Using the core features of Purrnal doesn't require creating an account — your pet profiles and logs are stored on your device. If we introduce optional accounts or cloud sync in the future, additional terms may apply and we'll present them before you opt in.

You're responsible for keeping your device secure and for any device backups (or lack of backups) that affect whether your data survives a lost, reset, or replaced phone. See our Privacy Policy for how data is stored.

You own the data you enter about your pet. We don't claim any ownership over it, and we only process it as needed to run the features you use (like building your PDF report on-device).

5. Purrnal Premium (subscriptions)

Core logging, the weight chart, and the PDF vet report are free, with no trial period or credit card required. An optional Premium tier (planned at $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr, subject to change) may unlock additional features in the future.

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms, refund policies, and auto-renewal rules.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — not through the Purrnal app itself.
• We don't process payments or store payment details ourselves.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their standard policies; we don't independently issue refunds.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Purrnal for any purpose other than tracking your own pet's (or pets you're responsible for) health information;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law gives you the right to do so;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it;
• Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The Purrnal name, logo, app design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. You keep all rights to your own pet's data that you enter into the app.

8. Third-party platforms

Purrnal is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and your use of the app is also subject to their respective usage terms. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service and provide no warranty for it.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA LOSS WON'T OCCUR. PURRNAL IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND IS NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT ANY DISEASE OR CONDITION IN YOUR PET.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PURRNAL AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — INCLUDING ANY DECISION MADE ABOUT YOUR PET'S HEALTH BASED ON INFORMATION IN THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You can stop using Purrnal at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms or misuses the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll aim to give reasonable notice so you can export your data first.

12. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms over time. For material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date and, where required, notify you in-app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Purrnal after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law
